Single Vision are suitable for either distance OR near viewing (Distance =driving, watching TV, etc. Near= reading, computer work, etc) Depending on your spectacle prescription, Distance Single Vision are often not suitable for reading, computer, or device use as well. If you have a "near add" in your prescription from your optometrist, this is an indicator that you are unlikely to be able to read with Single Vision Distance Lenses. Likewise, Single Vision Near lenses are NOT suitable for driving, watching TV, etc. but are great if you spend 100% of your work day doing near-tasks. You might find that a Single Vision Distance prescription is perfect for every-day use, depending on both your prescription and your age. Please discuss further with either Eyesports or your optometrist for further information. If you require "reading glasses", please specify this with your prescription
Multifocal Lenses incorporate both your distance and your near prescription into one lens. Suitable for both driving/TV and near work such as reading books and device use. Multifocals have distance viewing in the top of the lens and gradually shift to your reading prescription (near addition), as you look down to the bottom of the lens.
